This is my first ever job since 2004 and now I'm stepping into my 18th year with 7-Eleven! There're always challenges in my job but I feel satisfied when growing together with the business. I was promoted to Store Captain in my 3rd year, and thanks to all the support and guidance from different Area Managers, I further progressed to become the Assistant Store Manager 2 years later.  Although I have been managing my current store for over 11 years now, I still feel excited to work every day with new challenges and to witness the evolution of our business. I remembered when my son was young, he waited for me at the store and we walked home together at night. Now, he already turns into a young man who can help with gift wrapping in store during festive seasons. I’m proud to be part of 7-Eleven. I love my job because I’m always learning!

My first ever job since 2004

I started as a Category Manager in Food and had the chance to manage up to 5 categories in basic grocery under an everyday setting. This has prepared me to land the position of Project Manager on Wellcome store development. What I have enjoyed the most was collaborating across functions, thus realizing the impact of integrating the ambience of a wet market into our stores for an enhanced shopping experience. Working in tandem with team members from various backgrounds has allowed me to understand retail from a wider perspective. Furthermore, I am fortunate to engage in a CSR initiative in which resources are gathered to fight food waste upstream. All in all, it encompasses a myriad of possibilities to constantly learn and grow along my career path.
